EXPERIENCE Jason M. Gist joined the firm as an associate in September 2005. His practice at Kemppel, Huffman and Ellis, P.C. will be in the areas of labor and employment law, real estate, construction, business law, civil litigation, and regulatory matters. Mr. Gist’s experience includes working as a summer associate for a California firm where he focused on business and environmental litigation, including extensive work on a complex environmental matter under the California Environmental Quality Act that resulted in a favorable judgment for the firm’s client. Mr. Gist also completed externships for a District Attorney’s office and Public Defender’s office before graduating from law school. Before joining the firm, Mr. Gist served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chief Justice Alexander O. Bryner of the Alaska Supreme Court. EDUCATION Mr. Gist graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Fresno, in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, in 2004. During law school he was a member and editor of the California Criminal Law Review and worked as a research assistant. He was admitted to the state bar in Alaska in 2005 and is a member of the Anchorage Bar Association and American Bar Association. |
